- Are cheaper to purchase

- Joints and seams are very noticeable
The drawbacks however are that laminate worktops are much less durable in comparison to Quartz. They stain easily, which can be an absolute nightmare if you cook with highly saturated foods like turmeric, beetroot and/or red wine. Laminate worktops are also not heat resistant or heatproof and are very susceptible to leaving burn marks.
For busy households, we always recommend going for Quartz. If however, you are basing your decision solely on price, laminate worktops may be a suitable option for you.
