How Can You Remove Turmeric from Quartz Worktops?

Although Quartz is famously known for being stain-resistant, it is not stain-proof. Here is a comprehensive guide on how to tackle stubborn stains.

If your countertop comes into contact with turmeric, it may leave an unsightly yellow stain on the work surface! Not ideal.

Thankfully, several methods can help remove or lessen these stains, starting with the gentlest approach:

1. Warm water and dish soap: This simple method works surprisingly well for fresh turmeric stains. Mix a small amount of mild dish soap with warm water, dampen a soft microfiber cloth, and wipe the stained area. Rinse the cloth frequently and dry the surface with a clean, dry cloth.

2. Baking soda paste: For slightly more stubborn stains, create a paste using baking soda and water. Apply the paste directly to the stain and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Gently scrub the area with the paste using a damp cloth, then rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a clean cloth.

3. The Pink Stuff: The Pink Stuff really is a miracle cleaning paste. You can apply a small amount to the affected area. Leave for approximately 5 minutes and remove with a micro fibre cloth.

4. Cif: Cif can also be used sparingly.

5. Specialized Quartz cleaner: If the above methods fail, consider using a specialized Quartz cleaner. These cleaners are formulated specifically for Quartz countertops and are usually safe to use. Always follow the instructions on the product label carefully.

Important notes:

By following these methods and exercising caution, you can effectively remove or lessen turmeric stains from your Quartz worktops and maintain their beautiful appearance.
