One of our most frequently asked questions is ‘What is the difference between Quartz and Quartzite?’ The answer is quite simple. Quartz is a man-made stone comprising Quartz, resin and minerals whereas Quartzite is a natural stone.
Which is easier to maintain?
Quartz worktops and countertops are durable and low maintenance. They are scratch-resistant, heat-resistant and stain-resistant. Most stains can be easily wiped away with soapy water.
Although Quartzite is also a durable stone, it does require regular sealing and is more susceptible to absorbing stains.
Are there a wide range of colours to choose from?
Quartz worktops are man-made and therefore are available is a wide range of colours, styles and finishes where Quartzite is a natural stone and colours are limited to natural, warm tones including whites, beige and browns.
