Quartz Worktops

Quartz Worktops: Are they Right for You?

Choosing the right worktop for your kitchen can be a daunting task. Popular choices include; quartz, marble, granite, porcelain and laminate. We discuss the pros and cons below to help you make the right choice.

Quartz Worktops

Quartz worktops are a man-made stone comprising of crushed quartz combined with resin and pigments. This process creates a non-porous, durable surface that is resistant to stains, scratches, and heat. You can easily wipe away any water residue without the danger of your work surface eroding from water.

Pros of Quartz Worktops:

Quartz is a far superior, long term choice for your kitchen worktop in comparison to marble or granite, which can be susceptible to staining. It does not need to be sealed and is low-maintenance.

Laminate also has its disadvantages, primarily; that over time, it may erode with water contact and cannot withstand heat or stains.

Porcelain worktops are a great alternative to Quartz worktops and can be used both indoors and outdoors. Porcelain worktops are stain proof, heat proof and scratch proof. They are available in a wide range of colours and styles.
